Your First Visit
What to expect
If you are visiting for the first time, you should start by attending our Sunday Worship Service at 10:45am. When you arrive, you will walk from the parking lot, up the stairs to the glass doors, and to the main entrance. Someone will greet you with a smile, and if it's your first time, they will show you to the seating area of the Sanctuary.
Our Worship Service consists of live music with a blending of new contemporary songs and traditional hymns for all ages. Following worship, the pastor will present a Bible-based sermon, and the service will conclude with prayer. If you want to know more specifics, check out our Ministries page, view our Times and Location, read a review of our church, or hear Our Story.
Why I Love College Park
Another thing I appreciate about our church is the commitment to helping families grow in their faith. There are so many opportunities for children to learn about God in a fun and engaging way. My children have small groups and youth group, and they have loved every minute of it. The church also offers young adult themed small groups to help us lead and raise our children in a Christ-centered home.
The worship services are also amazing! The music is uplifting, inspiring, and professionally performed unlike any other church in the city. The Pastor's messages are relevant and applicable to our lives. I always leave feeling encouraged and refreshed, ready to face whatever the week ahead may bring.
Overall, I cannot recommend our church enough. If you are looking for a place to grow in your faith and connect with other believers, this is the place for you. Come and join our church family – you won't regret it!
I am thrilled to call College Park Church my family's home church, and I encourage others to come and join our wonderful church family. My family and I have been attending this church for several years now, and it has been an absolute blessing for us.
One of the things I love about our church is the strong sense of community and belonging that we feel. From the moment we walked in the door, we were welcomed with open arms by everyone we met. The church has become like a second family to us, and we have made lifelong friends here.
Our Story
College Park Church of God was started in the 1940s in downtown Huntsville. It transitioned to different buildings over the years on 8th Avenue and then Governor's Drive. In 1967, College Park Church of God built its current campus under the leadership of Reverend Albert Lee and was named after the neighboring community "College Park." Born out of a vision to reach the community, College Park Church of God was constructed with $300,000 through donations and fund raisers. The facility originally included a large sanctuary, along with upstairs and downstairs classrooms. During the 1990's, the church started its own daycare service and offered its care to the community. Over time, College Park has added onto its facilities to include a youth center and gymnasium. While still affiliated with the Church of God, the church often goes by the name "College Park Church" for short.
There are several ways to engage with the church and its membership, to include small groups, the worship team, community basketball, knitting groups, and even a food truck to feed the homeless and neighboring communities around Huntsville. We encourage you to read more about us here or contact us if you have any questions.
